Hi I am in Wirral just near Birkenhead looking for ace award caravan spares and I have an old caravan that is falling apart and has been completely dismantled on the inside it is not road worthy and I have been trying to find someone to dispose of it. Caravelair Eden/Hermitage 2004/2007 Hi, I am looking for spares for the above. Have you dismantled any of these? Looking for Ace caravan windows and a second hand passenger side pod leg end for a 15 plate Swift Sundance 644 SD.

I am 48 and used to caravan with my parents as a child all over Europe for our holidays and locally for weekends- my girls, the dogs and I absolutely love it and although there does seem to be lots of 'older' people caravanning.
I have never felt 'old', 'young' or even left out because I am not 'a couple' everyone is very friendly and helpful but then you get back what you give I find and I always say hello- usually its all it needs to break the ice and have made lots of friends- I do get the micky taken out of me from a few 'friends' when I ask for ace jubilee caravan spares but they are only jealous! Age is all in the mind anyway - your as young as you want to be.

I have also had boats on the canal and the average age for that is rising due mainly to a sharp increase in costs but I had far more money when I was in my 20s than I have now, so make the most of it. I buy second hand caravan parts whenever possible.
Well how timely for me to reply. I will hit 60 in January my wife 60 following Dec and guess what our twin grandchildren had their very first caravan holiday this weekend at the grand age of 6 months. Many more to follow so I expect they will lower the average age by a huge amount. Cheers.

Caravan Wheels
I first started as a youngster when my dad decided, instead of the usual 2 weeks in a tent in Derbyshire, to Hire caravan wheels for a holiday (over 25 years ago). He found the cost astronomical so went and bought a 1962 bedford caravanette (I learnt to drive in it so that gives a clue as to when).
We had that for 10 years and my parents eventually went over to a caravan. We now have what was their 3rd van. You could say we inherited the family's country estate

Thetford Fridge Spares
Well I'm with the toyboy brigade. Those who have read Jan's post can now work out who's what age. 8)
Our youngest (now 7) went on his first caravan holiday in a static at the ripe old age of 18 days. I guess it's in the blood and he fixed the fridge with thetford fridge spares.
Had a van on and off since about 30, I'm 64 now now but married a younger woman to help keep me young!!! she is only 63 but don't tell her I said that.

Caravan Axle
Use it less now as have to work weekends in this job. Just used for holidays now, but why should it matter how old you are? If you enjoy it, then do it, that's what I always say and my son does jobs like fixing the caravan axle.

Truma Spares
I was bothered a little when I started reading some of the caravanning mags, by the rather smug "elderly and loaded" image I saw, but caravanning isn't just for the rich, and or the elderly or the retired. I have seen many younger families taking up caravanning over the years and fixing things with truma spares etc.
