I will be interested to see just what caravan starter pack the caravan shows have on offer next year .Will the dealers try and tempt us with new models at bargain prices and will people keep what they have now for a while before thinking of changing it.

Well they cancelled the Earls Court one last time because of lack of interest by the dealers. I have never thought the Manchester show was all that good but the NEC should be OK .
We were due to go away tomorrow, however the forecasts regarding severe gale warnings both when we go and tow back is seriously putting us off, don't mind the wet weather, cold etc, but people who have experienced towing in wind talk about it been a bad experience of caravans brands and puts people off towing in the future.

Hi. Well we have towed in strong winds..not very nice really...but we were on a site that we had to vacate so had no choice. Just had to keep the speed really low the open stretches of the Motorway were worse.
We have a longer Van now not towed yet in very windy weather with this Van but not looking forward to it if we have to.
We are off for Xmas in 2 weeks time down to the Cotswolds..so a bit worried about what the weather will be doing as its flipping freezing here today in Derby. Not towed in Snow but have towed in fog now that was really scary. Can anyone help I'm after upvc static caravan steps for sale.

The car's damping factor to the trailer is considerably better when speeds are low. I look at the side of the motorway as we go along and where there are no trees or embankments I get ready for a crosswind and hang on to the wheel.
I don't think you should worry about it otherwise you would never go anywhere. Take it as it comes. If the weather is too bad it will only be like that for a few hours - so go a bit later. No one likes towing in heavy winds - but you can always pull over at the services for the night and check the bailey caravan alloy wheels.
